About Maya
Maya spent six years in nonprofit financial-literacy work before joining compareloanapps.com, running small-group sessions on budgeting, credit-building, and first-time borrowing at community centers across metro Atlanta. That experience shapes how she writes: assume nothing, define every term, and be honest when a product is not a good fit for someone rather than talking them into it.
She writes from the position that most readers landing on a loan-app guide are not trying to optimize a finance strategy. They are trying to figure out whether an app can cover rent on the 14th when payday is the 15th. She takes that context seriously.
Approach
Every article Maya publishes goes through the same three passes: a plain-English explanation of what the product is, a worked example with actual numbers (“if you take out $150, here is what you pay and when”), and a “this is not the right tool if” section. That third section is why readers tend to finish her pieces and write in with follow-up questions.
What Maya does not cover
Prime personal loans, auto-refi, mortgage comparison, and investment topics. Those live with other editors on the team. If you arrived here looking for a 30-year mortgage APR article, Maya is not your editor; but she will still email you back.
